This is an extremely limited edition celebrating Francisco Almonte's (owner and president of DBL Cigars) 35 years in the cigar industry.
Francisco is a third-generation follower of the tobacco industry, following in the footsteps his grandfather and father set in the early twentieth century. For nearly 100 years, the Almonte family has demonstrated the greatness of Dominican tobacco by producing high quality premium cigars.
There are 68 members of the Almonte family working in the cigar industry. Francisco fell in love with cigars when he started working alongside his father when he was just 7 years old. He discovered tobacco leaves and rolled cigars (raw, rough cigars often used to test blends).
Francisco's father, also named Francisco Almonte, owned a cigar factory that produced the El Rey cigar, a very popular cigar in the Dominican Republic for most of the 1970s, 1980s and early 1990s.
Today, Francisco owns his own tobacco farm, cigar factory and cigar box factory in the Dominican Republic. He employs more than 75 men and women throughout his company. DBL Cigars has become synonymous with quality and consistency since the company's inception in 2013. Before starting his own company, Francisco worked under Carlos Fuente Sr. at A. Fuente Cigars and Lito Gomez as General Manager of La Flor Dominicana.
The tobaccos for the 35th Anniversary cigar have been carefully selected by Francisco Almonte himself. He chose ultra-premium tobaccos that are carefully sown by the most renowned producers in the industry.
This majestic cigar is wrapped in a wrapper grown in the Cameroonian sun from Ecuador. This tobacco boasts the best taste of any wrapper on the market today. It is also Francisco's favorite wrapper. The binder is Dominican, and the filler blend includes the most prized tobacco in the Dominican Republic, Piloto Cubano.
